What your bike fit covers

A Ciclo bike fit is a physio-led positional assessment. It is designed to optimise your body's relationship with your bike based on your anatomy, movement capacity, riding goals, and injury history.

Your fit session includes:

  • A structured physical assessment of your mobility, flexibility, and riding posture
  • Adjustment and measurement of contact points — saddle height and fore-aft, cleat position, bar height and reach — within the limits of your current components
  • Positional recommendations informed by your physiology and riding style
  • Saddle width measurement and general saddle shape guidance based on sit bone data
  • A written summary of your fit measurements and recommendations

What your fit does not cover

A bike fit is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection of your bicycle, nor a guarantee of equipment compatibility. The following fall outside the scope of our service:

  • Verification that a recommended component is compatible with your specific frame, seatpost, clamp, drivetrain, or other hardware
  • Mechanical installation, adjustment, or repair of any components
  • Pre-existing mechanical issues present on your bike before, during, or after the fit — including but not limited to thread wear, seatpost slippage, or hardware degradation
  • Guarantee that any recommended product will be available, correctly sized, or compatible with your specific setup
  • Saddle comfort outcomes, which involve individual trial-and-error and may require further iteration

Equipment compatibility — including saddle rail compatibility with seatpost clamps, and adapter or hardware requirements specific to your frame — is the client's responsibility to verify independently before purchasing any product. We strongly recommend consulting your bike manufacturer's specifications or a qualified mechanic prior to any equipment purchase.

Equipment recommendations

Where we recommend products, components, or brands during or after your fit, these recommendations are advisory only. They are based on positional data and general industry knowledge, and do not constitute a guarantee that any product will:

  • Be mechanically compatible with your specific bicycle, seatpost, clamp, or frame
  • Deliver the same fit outcome if installed incorrectly or on a different setup
  • Resolve comfort issues without further adjustment or professional installation

Ciclo is not liable for the cost of any equipment purchased on the basis of a recommendation made during a fit session, including costs associated with incompatible components, damaged components, or installation-related issues. All purchasing decisions remain the sole responsibility of the client.

Comfort, trial & error

Saddle comfort in particular is highly individual. A fit session establishes an optimal starting point based on your anatomy — it does not guarantee immediate comfort or eliminate the need for further iteration. You may require a follow-up session, a different saddle, or an adjustment period as your body adapts to a new position.

We encourage you to contact us if you experience discomfort following your fit. We are always willing to review your position and provide guidance. Follow-up adjustments within 60 days of your initial fit are offered at a reduced rate — please enquire at the time of booking.

Pre-existing mechanical issues

Ciclo is not responsible for mechanical issues present on your bicycle prior to your fit, or issues that become apparent during or after the session that are attributable to pre-existing wear, damage, or component degradation. This includes — but is not limited to — seatpost slippage, stripped threads, clamp failure, and cable or brake issues.

If our fitter identifies a mechanical concern during your session, we will notify you. We may recommend you visit a qualified mechanic before proceeding. We do not perform mechanical repairs on-site.

Cancellations & rescheduling

We require 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the session cost. No-shows without notice will be charged in full.

We understand that circumstances arise — please contact us as early as possible and we will always do our best to accommodate you.

Incomplete sessions & deposits

If you are unable to complete your fit session on the day — for any reason that has not been communicated to us in advance — your deposit will be retained. This includes situations where a mechanical issue with your bicycle (such as a flat tyre, broken component, or equipment incompatibility discovered on arrival) prevents the session from proceeding in full.

It is your responsibility to ensure your bicycle is in a suitable condition to be fitted before attending your appointment. If you are unsure whether your bike is ready, please contact us ahead of time and we can advise.

We will always consider genuine extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis and may offer a credit, reschedule, or partial refund at our discretion. Please reach out to us as soon as possible if something unexpected arises.

Health fund claims

Ciclo bike fits are conducted by AHPRA-registered physiotherapists and are claimable on eligible private health insurance under physiotherapy extras. The amount claimable depends on your individual policy, fund, and level of cover. Ciclo does not guarantee any specific rebate amount. Clients are responsible for confirming their own entitlements with their fund prior to their appointment.

A receipt will be issued following your session that can be submitted to your fund directly. Some funds offer on-the-spot claiming via HICAPS — please enquire at reception.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, Ciclo's liability in connection with bike fit services is limited to:

  • Re-supply of the service, or
  • Payment of the reasonable cost of having the service supplied again

Ciclo is not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including costs incurred through the purchase of incompatible or unsuitable equipment, mechanical repair costs, or loss of use of your bicycle.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from a bike fit service at Ciclo will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
